Is it a research trip if it comes after the book is published?

This summer my family took a little trip across the pond, spending a week in England and the Netherlands. The weather deities shined their favor upon us and outside of two 30-minute spots of rain, we had sunshine and clear nights the entire time.

While in London I took in a few of the locations I’d featured in Masters of Science, released earlier this year. This included Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, the London Eye, and the Thames, among many others. No, we weren’t hopping from double-decker busses like the characters of Masters, but we embarked on several adventures that had me yearning for some time abroad. If only my kids were older. If London was expansive and rich with history, Amsterdam was cozy and peaceful, with its numerous canals, slower pace, beautiful women at every turn, and excellent food. The museums were also breathtaking, none as profound as our visit to the Anne Frank Haus.

All in all, it is an excellent trip to mark a summer full of national adventures. I still have a few more coming up. Writing has been going very well too with a resurgent Hollywood splash and a new book underway. 2024 has turned out quite nicely. Hope all is well with you! Happy readings!
